SPECIES & GRADES
 We
manufacture our hive bodies from west coast-kiln
dried ponderosa pine. There are two grades of hive
bodies#1-Commercial
and Better Grade
This grade is a
regular commercial grade with the select left in it
(we do NOT cull out the select grade which can range
from 10-45% selects).
 #2-Value
Grade
This lower grade does
not have knot holes, but can contain defects such as
star-checked knots, black ring knots, and larger
spike knots. The dovetails are still intact and the
boxes match together just fine.
